Born in rural Chiniot, Jhang, into a humble farming family — an upbringing that instilled a deep appreciation for nature's interconnectedness. After matriculation he moved to Lahore for pre-engineering at GC Lahore, then earned an engineering degree from UET, beginning his career as an instrumentation engineer.
He transitioned from engineering into Pakistan Customs through the CSS exam. Over fourteen years he represented Pakistan at institutions in the US, Japan, Australia and Europe, sharpening his management, policy and analytical skills through top-tier training — working closely with prime ministers and department heads on reform initiatives, and reaching a strategic role early in his career.
He left government service in 2012, frustrated by decision-making processes that made it difficult to improve people's lives. Today he consults on public sector projects across South-East Asia, the Middle East and North Africa — specialising in knowledge management, risk management and trade policy. But his true passion lies in education and learning.
His education journey began by homeschooling his four children. That experiment led him to become a trainer at a Professional Development Center, and to fifteen years of research into K-12 best practice. In 2014 he began training school teachers — and saw firsthand how systemic limitations, not teacher ability, were the real constraint. House of Wisdom grew out of that realisation.
